India vs Australia 1st ODI Highlights: Australia won by 34 runs
After a great win in test match series India lost to Australia in their first ODI encounter by 34 runs. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in SCG. Despite of not having Bumrah in bowling line up, Indian bowling not looked that sharped today.
New comer Khaleel Ahmed went too much in his spell. Though Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked 2 wickets but he also went for too much runs. Australia were able to score 288 runs on board by a good performance in the middle order of their batting. Usman Khawaja scored 59, Shaun Marsh scored 54 and Peter Handscomb made a quick 73 knock. Stoinis was also not out on 47. These performances helped Aussies to get a good total to defend.
India in batting made that mistake which Aussies didn’t. Indian middle order could not supply some great partnerships thus they got the price. Only, Rohit Sharma made a brilliant 133 knock in the top order and Dhoni scored a half century down in the line-up. Other batsmen were not able to score even double figure run. India were fall behind by 34 runs after 50 overs. Aussie pacer Richardson was outstanding in his bowling as he took 4 wickets with just 2.6 economy. Stionis and Behrendorff took 2 wickets each. India trailed by 0-1 in the series.
