MS Dhoni is still best finisher
MS Dhoni has proved he is still the best finisher in ODI format. In the recent series with Australia he played few fine innings, and he is one of the reasons for winning the ODI series against Australia in their place. In the last 3 ODIs Dhoni scored 87, 55, and 51 runs in which he remained not out twice, and lead India to the win. Maybe he had some slow run rate, but it’s better to build a good innings and lead the team to the win.
Australian bowlers are tough to face in their turf, despite that issue he scored almost every bowler of the team. Australia has experienced bowling line up in the front and in the depth also. Managing a quick run rate is never easy in these situations. But, to remain not out is the more tough challenge in that pressured situation. Dhoni proved it to all. He was among the best captains India has ever had, and a fine wicket keeper. Every cricket fan knows his quickness and cleverness in the time of fielding.
He also showed a glance of that in the Finch’s dismissal, Bhuvi did exactly what MSD told to him and he got his prize instantly. But, in the case of run chase, though other batsmen played their part well in every game but the finishing came from Dhoni’s valuable participation. The recent ODI world cup keeping in mind, BCCI should go for experience rather than new talent. It will be Dhoni’s last world cup. So, Dhoni’s knock in last overs may fulfil the absence of Yuvraj Singh in the upcoming world cup.
